AHEAD of Sunday's Betfred Championship Round Three clash - we take a look at our opponents, the in-form Dewsbury Rams.

Formbook

-       Bradford Bulls are set to face Dewsbury Rams in our second home game of the Betfred Championship Campaign.

-       Dewsbury have started the season well, with two victories to their name from two games, beating Whitehaven and Widnes.

-       The Bulls come into this clash off the back of a superb derby victory over fierce rivals Halifax Panthers, Jordan Lilley crowning himself the hero after his late drop goal secured the win.

The Squad

-       Dewsbury boast a talented and experienced squad, with a veteran half-back partnership of Liam Finn and former Bull Paul Sykes.

-       They also bolstered their squad with the additions of Reiss Butterworth and Keenen Tomlinson, both products of the Bradford academy system.

The Coach

-       Rams coach Lee Greenwood has been at the helm since his appointment in 2018 - guiding the club to safety in 2019 and then started 2020 strong prior to the pandemic halting the season in its tracks.

·      Greenwood enjoyed an 11-year playing career which saw him feature for the likes of Halifax, London Broncos and Huddersfield Giants before making two caps for England in 2004.

Connections

-       Dewsbury boast a number of former Bradford players, mostly those who featured in 2017 including hooker Reiss Butterworth, winger Keenan Tomlinson and prop Jon Magrin.

-       Most notably of all, Paul Sykes, who came through the Bradford academy in 1999.

Previous affairs

-       During 2019, Bradford Bulls played Dewsbury Rams twice, with both games ending in victories for Bradford.

-       The home game, at Odsal Stadium ended in a 20-12 victory, while the away clash at the Tetley’s Stadium ended in a 34-10 win.
