BULLS SIGN RISING STAR HAMLETT
WE are delighted to announce the signing of exciting former England Youth International Reece Hamlett on a one-year deal!
The 19-year-old’s arrival bolsters John Kear’s back-line for the 2021 campaign – adding further competition for places in the three-quarter position.
Hamlett joined the Wigan Warriors’ Scholarship system before enjoying a spell at Warrington Wolves most recently.
The rising star admits he is ‘over the moon’ to have joined the club – insisting he wants to play a big part in the squad’s push for promotion next year.
“I am over the moon to sign for such a great club like Bradford – with the history the club has, from the trophies the club’s won to the players that have come through the system here it is unbelievable,” said Hamlett.
“The goals that the club are setting for the future to get back into Super League is something I couldn’t not want to be a part of so I am very happy and proud to be here.
“John has done a great job with the squad he has built, with a good mix of youth and experience there is a very close bond within the group and that is something that will definitely help us next year.”
Bradford boss John Kear believes his side has been strengthened with the recruit of Hamlett – a ‘strong athlete’ who has all the ‘raw athletic abilities required’.
“We are delighted to have Reece with us – he was a part of the Reserves at Warrington this year and with no Reserve grade next year he was looking for an opportunity,” said Kear, who is sponsored by Bradford Bulls Banter.
“We know he is a really strong athlete, he is very quick and obviously has improvements to make but he has all the raw athletic abilities that are required.
“Reece will get his opportunities next year and we look forward to working with him and getting him up to speed – we are confident he will become an established first team player.”
