SAM HALLAS INTERVIEW
We spoke to vice-captain Sam Hallas for his thoughts looking ahead to 2021 having put pen-to-paper on a new one-year deal...
On having secured his future…
It is good to have signed, with the Coronavirus there have been lots laid off and made redundant so looking at the bigger picture, it is nice to have security and do what I love at a club I love in Bradford.
On a frustrating halt to an impressive start…
Before the season was halted we were cooking on gas and if we can turn those small losses into wins we can really push on and that’s the main thing. We are quite a young squad but we are all singing off the same hymnsheet.
On the club’s key signings for 2021…
They are massive signings, retaining John for another two years is a huge coup for the club and Broughie can only add to us – it really sets the club’s stall out.
On his role as vice-captain during and after lockdown…
My job doesn’t change, I am not the most naturally gifted but I will give it all I’ve got and try benefit the team, as long as we are all enjoying ourselves that is when we play our best rugby and we saw that we can play to a real high standard if we keep spirits high.
On future hopes and the vital support the club receives…
Look at how the club is building, we pushed a Super League side in Wakefield close and two title contenders, next year we can look to flip those results and move forward. The fans stuck with us at our lowest ebb and now we are heading towards the business end of where we want to be, this is what we have been working towards.
