BRADFORD BULLS BOOK BERTH IN FIFTH ROUND

BRADFORD Bulls booked a Coral Challenge Cup fifth-round berth with a 22-0 defeat of Underbank Rangers at the Tetley’s Stadium this afternoon.

A tightly contested opening quarter saw both sides come up with errors in difficult conditions before Adam Rooks broke the deadlock for Bradford.

From his first involvement, George Flanagan then extended the hosts’ advantage before Levy Nzoungou barged his way through for his first try in the red, amber and black.

Rowan Milnes – on the back of a slick passage of play – scored the only try of the second half to secure Bradford’s place in the hat.

John Kear handed a debut to Dan Waite-Pullan on the interchange bench – with Flanagan making his 200^th career appearance.

Bradford created more in the opening exchanges and that pressure paid off when Rooks kicked a loose ball forward before pouncing on it over the Underbank line.

Flanagan – fresh off being introduced as a substitute – played a one-two with Sam Hallas before diving over.

The Bulls looked re-energised and Nzoungou was next to breach the Underbank line minutes before the hooter.

The opening twenty minutes of the second half mirrored the opening quarter with errors aplenty.

Underbank produced a spirited display to keep Bradford at bay before finally being breached with minutes of the half left.

Thomas Doyle broke midfield before feeding Milnes – who finished off the move that also involved Brandon Pickersgill and Ross Oakes.
