BULLS ANNOUNCE LEADERSHIP TRIO

As revealed at last night’s Squad Numbers launch, Joe Mellor has been appointed captain for the 2026 season, with Jayden Nikorima and Ryan Sutton joint vice-captains.

Captain Joe Mellor, sponsored by Fairway Roofing, said:

“I did get emotional when Kurt told me, the club did a video in a Team Meeting and announced it to the group but Kurt told me couple of days before that and it’s massive for me. I have been in and around leadership groups all my career but to be made captain at such an exciting time for the club is massive.

I used to have a few Bradford shirts back in the day, I’m a Warrington lad but Henry Paul was my favourite player. I remember the times when he was here and if we can get on the right tracks to get there we’ll be doing alright.”

Vice-Captain Ryan Sutton, sponsored by The Sharp Family, said: 

“It is pretty surreal, it has been a rocky journey for the last two years especially, so when Kurt brought me in and told me I nearly cried to be honest. I have wanted to be a leader for a long time, I wear my heart on my sleeve in every game I play, I want to do that for the boys and the fans, as a club we deserve to be in Super League and I know from the boys and the way we are training everyone is looking forward to getting out there.”

Vice-Captain Jayden Nikorima, sponsored by La Romantica Beds, said: 

“[The first few weeks] have been really good, the boys that were here previously have brought a really good energy and having seen all the new signage when driving round it’s an exciting time and we’re all excited to get out there and play some footy. Leadership has never in the eyesight for me but coming here I wanted a fresh start, being around the boys has made me a better person and hopefully that shows out on the field.”
