WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP GROUP FOR 2026 ANNOUNCED

Bradford Bulls are delighted to announce that Sarah Garland has been named as the Captain of our Women’s team ahead of the 2026 season.

Garland, who made her Bradford Bulls debut at the end of the 2022 season, has been selected by her teammates and coaches to lead the Bulls women’s side in her fourth full season at the club.

The prop joins newly appointed Women’s Head Coach Noah Gascoigne as the team are looking to build-upon their much-improved 2025 season in the Women’s Championship.

We caught up with Sarah on a number of topics ahead of the new season…

On her time at Bradford so far: “It’s been a really good experience for me. Stepping up from community to play at a higher level, it was what I needed at the time. I am someone who likes structure and likes to push myself so it’s been great to be able to step up and play at that higher level.”

On being named captain: “It’s something I’m really proud of and something that I really wanted as well. The way we did it this season was we put ourselves forward if we wanted to do it and our teammates voted for who they wanted then the coaching staff got the final decision.”

“To know that I’m in the mix and to know that both my teammates and my coaching staff are all backing me, it’s really nice to know that they’ve all got that confidence in me as well but I’m really proud and really excited and ready to get going.”

On the 2026 season: “For myself, selfishly I want to be the best player that I can be and I want to do the best job that I can do. We’re already back in pre-season, or what we’re calling ‘pre’ pre-season, we’ve been back since September and obviously looking ahead to next season we’re looking to be in contention.”

“We’re growing in experience and the girls may be young but the structure that Noah’s bringing in is brilliant as well and if we can all get on board with that and keep moving in the right direction then it’s all looking really positive so far for us.”

On their newly appointed Head Coach, Noah Gascoigne: “Now he’s confirmed and it is his season, he’s really looking forward to it and we’re looking forward to it it’s a good group of players and what he’s saying makes sense and people are getting on board.”

“He’ll do something and make sure you all understand it and then we’ll go out and do it, it’s really positive and it’s going really well to be honest we’re going over lots of things at the minute and we’ve still got a few months before the season starts.”

Sarah is joined in the leadership group by vice-captains Bailey Alexander, Paigan Taylor and Vicki Gleadall.
