LONDON MATCH REPORT

Bradford Bulls returned to winning ways with a crucial, six-try 34-24 comeback victory over London Broncos in Wimbledon this afternoon.

Bayley Liu and Jorge Taufua returned to the side as the only two changes from last week’s clash with Toulouse – replacing Matty Gee and Kieran Gill.

Two penalties and a Bradford error helped London into the visitors’ 10 and the home side capitalised to break the deadlock through Luke Polselli.

The home side enjoyed a dominant opening 35 minutes, winning the territory battle and asking numerous questions of the Bulls defence.

Brandon Webster-Mansfield would eventually break Bradford’s resistance with a try on London’s right edge.

The introduction of Mitch Souter sparked a Bulls revival and two tries in as many minutes brought the visitors back into the contest.

The Australian was denied by scrambling defence minutes before Guy Armitage latched onto a grubber from Tom Holmes to get Bradford onto the scoreboard.

The restart went out on the full giving the Bulls a penalty on halfway and they capitalised on that field position when Joe Keyes sliced through the London defence to pass 500 points in a Bradford shirt.

Bradford came out firing at the start of the second half and when Keyes’ kicked a 40/20 to get the Bulls within range – he sniped over for his second of the contest to give us our first lead.

The Bulls went back-to-back again when the impressive Mitch Souter broke into the Broncos’ half, with Waqa Blake superbly grounding in the corner to extend Bradford’s lead.

London kept up the heat on the Bradford line but to no avail and found themselves at a numerical disadvantage as Brandon Webster-Mansfield was sent to the sin bin.

The Bulls immediately took advantage when Luke Hooley broke to halfway, finding Armitage in support who swatted away a number of Broncos’ defenders to score his second of the afternoon.

An error from the restart gave London an immediate chance to respond and they duly obliged through Liam Tindall.

Back came Bradford however with Armitage turning provider on this occasion, breaking from inside the Bulls’ half before finding Hooley in support to return the favour.

A topsy-turvy finale continued when Tindall grabbed his second after another Bradford error led to multiple restarts, leading to the winger’s second.
