Schofield Previews Bulls Reserves' Showndown with Giants

With anticipation building ahead of derby day we caught up with Bradford Bulls Reserves’ coach Jonathon Schofield ahead of the showdown against Huddersfield Giants tomorrow evening.

With anticipation building ahead of derby day we caught up with Bradford Bulls Reserves’ coach Jonathon Schofield ahead of the showdown against Huddersfield Giants tomorrow evening In our conversation, Schofield shared his thoughts on the team’s preparations, the challenges posed by the Giants and the importance of momentum.

Bradford Bulls Reserves’ will be looking to grab the win tomorrow evening after narrowly missing out against Wakefield Trinity last time out with a 22-22 draw. The squad can use that performance to build on and get themselves over the line.

“The players have prepared well for the challenge especially coming off the back of our last game against Wakefield. We had plenty of positives to take from it after coming out with a draw. I feel as though we deserved to win, but we need to keep the belief in the squad and hopefully we can put a performance in against Huddersfield, who will be a strong side.” Jonathan Schofield.

With the togetherness and everyone playing well and being on the same page and working hard for each other, that showed in the performance against Wakefield last time out, I feel as though we deserved to come away with the win and hopefully we will see that again tomorrow night.”

“We had a player's discussion around the Wakefield performance, and they all believed in what the coaching staff said, and we gave them belief that they could win the game. We just fell short coming away with a draw.”

“We have a couple new players who are going to feature, which will add to us. That is the beauty of the Reserves' you don’t always get the same team out each week. We have Lewis Hagan returning from his concussion protocol, which is good as Lewis will add to the game.”

“Huddersfield are a strong and physical team so as a group we need to focus on ourselves and make sure we do the little things right and work for the 80 minutes and then hopefully we will come out on the right side of the result.”

We constantly see players progress, obviously we have some good examples Lewis Hagan he's been consistent each week, Harvey Duckworth has as well. Sam Ackroyd has played his part especially in the Wakefield game. Its good seeing the players individually develop and seeing them progress and learning from previous games but all the players want to get the win but obviously we want to develop and push players on as much as we can.”
