FIVE ALIVE ON FRIDAY NIGHT FEVER

Bradford Bulls ran in five tries to mark a return to winning ways with a 32-6 victory over Batley Bulldogs at a sunbaked Bartercard Odsal Stadium last night.

Tyran Ott and Eliot Peposhi returned to the fray for Bradford, replacing the injured duo James Meadows and Mitch Souter. 

After a period of pressure that saw both Konrad Hurrell and Tom Holmes both have tries ruled out, the Bulls did eventually break the deadlock through Matty Gee. The back rower ran a good line to dart through a gap in the Batley defence to score. 

The Bulldogs would find themselves level soon after however, when Robbie Butterworth was on the end of a break. 

But two tries from Guy Armitage gave Bradford a two-score lead at the break.

The first, the Bulls had the numbers out wide and Hurrell fed his wingman for a diving finish in the corner. 

Then on the stroke of half-time, Armitage outwrestled his opposite number to score his fourth try in the last five days. 

Shortly after the break, the boot of Jordan Lilley nudged Bradford two points further ahead.

An attritional second half in sweltering conditions saw points at a premium, but Armitage broke the Batley resistance with his hat trick score, finishing a looping pass from the impressive Keyes, who made his 200^th career appearance.

And the final scoring act of the game came from the equally impressive Holmes, who danced his way through the Bulldogs defence for his first try since returning from injury.
