BULLS BATTLE TO BEAT PANTHERS

Bradford Bulls put an end to Halifax Panthers’ unbeaten start with a 12-8 victory at the Shay this afternoon.

The Bulls welcomed Bayley Liu and Ebon Scurr back into the fold, with loanee Eribe Doro also named.

Defences were firmly on top in a tight opening forty, with only a Jouffret penalty nudging Halifax ahead.

Jouffret then scored on the back of a neat kick inside to extend Halifax’s advantage.

Bradford grew into proceedings and James Meadows made a superb break from inside his own half, stepping past Jouffret to score.

On the hooter, Hooley looked like he was destined to score but incredible scramble defence held him up.

The Bulls started the second half in the same vein as the first ended and pressure told when Ronan Michael put Luke Hooley through a gap to score.

Despite incessant pressure towards the end of the game, Bradford held on for a famous Easter win.
