BULLS SECURE SEMI

Bradford Bulls booked a spot in the Betfred Championship play-off semi finals with a 25-12 victory over Featherstone Rovers at Bartercard Odsal this afternoon.

Eamon O’Carroll’s side made a lightning quick start with Jayden Myers, fresh off his Betfred Championship Young Player of the Year nomination, scoring superbly in the right corner.

Points were at a premium with defences on top in an attritional first half, with Jordan Lilley nudging the Bulls further ahead with a penalty goal.

With half-time closing in, the Magic Man slotted over a drop goal to take the Bulls into a two-score lead.

The second half began in similar fashion but three tries in 15 minutes saw the home side race into an unassailable lead.

The first, Kieran Gill pounced on a grubber from Tom Holmes to score his 21st try of the season.

Soon after, Gill turned provider as a Mitch Souter break saw him find Keven Appo – who found Gill – who found Jordan Lilley on his inside for a superb breakaway score.

Appo then got himself on the scoresheet with the Bulls rampant – Keven scoring a typically powerful effort from close range.

The visitors managed two late consolation scores from Josh Hardcastle and Brad Day, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of the raucous Bradford support.
