FOURTH WIN IN A ROW SEALS TOP FOUR
Bradford Bulls confirmed a spot in the Betfred Championship top four with a 16-14 win over Batley Bulldogs at a soggy Bartercard Odsal this afternoon.
The Bulls, heading into the game on the back of a three game winning streak, got off to the perfect start when Jorge Taufua scored out wide after Tom Holmes made an impressive 90 metre break.
Batley hit back however with two tries to take the lead. Lucas Walshaw crashed onto a short ball before former Bull Joe Burton scored on the left edge.
Eamon O’Carroll’s side did seize the initiative heading into the break, when Jordan Lilley produced some mercurial skill to set up Jayden Okunbor for his first try of the contest.
With conditions making things difficult, points were at a premium but Okunbor would superbly hold a grubber from Lee Gaskell to score his second of the game.
The Bulldogs would not throw the towel in however and set up a nervy finale when George Senior scored to get Mark Moxon’s men back within two.
Josh Woods’ kick drifted across the face of the posts and the home side held on for a vital two points – a fourth win in a row and also all but confirming third place barring a massive points difference swing.
