BULLS FALL TO LAST GASP DEFEAT

Our winning run in the league came to an end as we fell to a last-gasp 21-20 defeat against Batley Bulldogs at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium this afternoon.
Our winning run in the league came to an end as we fell to a last-gasp 21-20 defeat against Batley Bulldogs at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium this afternoon.
Despite early Batley pressure on the back of errors, Bradford raced into an early two-score lead.
The Bulls found themselves camped on the Batley line for repeat sets and eventually, Fulton crashed through a gap and stretched out to score.
The 22-year-old Australian then grabbed his second in as many minutes, racing clear from 70 metres out to score.
Batley hit back with a quickfire double of their own however, with Burton and White scoring to level matters.
It stayed that way for the remainder of the half, with Jordan Lilley going close with two drop goal attempts.
Lilley would kick Bradford into the lead however, early in the second half via a penalty before the boot of Josh Woods restored parity once more.
Alistair Leak pinched one out of dummy half with just ten minutes left to give Batley a six-point lead, but the Bulls hit back with a flowing move on the left which saw Aidan McGowan kick inside for Tom Holmes to score under the sticks.
With the scores level and just three minutes remaining on the clock, we were awarded a penalty 35 metres out, but the kick went wide.
A drop goal attempt on the next set followed suit, with Batley capitalising on the seven tackle set, with Woods scoring a last-gasp drop goal to win the game for the home side.
