JOE ROLLS BACK THE YEARS FOR RYCROFT

One of Bradford Bulls' former players and current Non-Executive Director, Joe Pitts, is taking to the field at Odsal one last time, and is looking for support from Bulls fans.

Joe Pitts played for Bradford Northern, Bramley, Batley, and West Bowling, Greengates and Idle as a younger man - now, 37 years on from his last game and as he approaches his 70th birthday, he is taking to the field at Odsal one last time, for a very good cause - commemorating one of the Bulls' youngest fans, who sadly passed away earlier this year.  Rycroft Alport Foster died in June at Great Ormond Street as a consequence of an infection while he was recovering from a bone marrow transplant, necessitated by his genetic condition Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome (SDS). His father, Andrew Foster, is a lifelong fan of Bradford Bulls, and has worked with the club to commemorate Rycroft and raise funds in his memory to help other children like him.

In his memory, a Rycroft XIII are taking on the British Asian Rugby Association (BARA), led by former England International and BARA CEO Ikram Butt, as a 1pm curtainraiser to the Bulls vs York Knights game on Sunday 10th September (3pm KO). All funds raised will go towards Rycroft's three charities:

Great Ormond Street Hospital - Fox Ward

SDS UK

Colchester Hospital Children's Ward

Andrew said: "We are so grateful to Joe for pulling on his boots one last time in memory of Rycroft, and we know it would mean a lot to him to break the £500 target he has set for himself. Any contribution big or small is very gratefully received and will help very ill children like Rycroft was get home to their families, happy and healthy." https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/rycroft-joe-pitts
