BULLS BREAK STREAK WITH HOME VICTORY

Bradford Bulls got back to winning ways after an eight-try 48-18 victory over Workington Town, with George Flanagan crossing for two scores.

Mark Dunning handed a first-team debut to Academy product Myles Lawford, and the young half impressed early on with some strong defense.

Both sides however struggled to get going early on, as errors dominated the proceedings.

Workington then started to take control, as Carl Forber crashed over to give the visitors a shock lead.

Bradford went close, as debutant Myles Lawford stepped his way through the visitor’s line but was just short.

Then Workington were awarded a penalty for a ball steal, with Carl Forber adding the two from his boot.

Chester Butler then took advantage of some slack Workington defending, as he cantered over to bring Bradford back into the game.

That was all as the half ended, as the visitors took a slender advantage, however this wouldn’t last.

Carl Forber was involved again straight after the restart, creating another try as Workington crashed over through Conor Terrill.

This kickstarted Bradford’s afternoon, as George Flanagan really led from the front and took the game into his own hands.

On the last, he blasted through the Town defence to score, with AJ Wallace following up soon after with one of his own to put us in the lead for the first time.

Joe Burton, then found space to race over and push our lead further out, taking the game away from Workington.

Alex Clegg got one back, but it was only to be consolation for Chris Thorman’s men, as Flanagan went over for his second, to jubilant celebrations from the teammates surrounding him.

Dec Patton, on his 150th appearance, sent a looping pass out to another milestone man in Kieran Gill, who found his way over on his 100th career appearance.

Mark Dunning’s men wrapped things up with two more tries before the hooter, as Ryan Millar crossed before the man of the moment Sam Hallas, cut a superb line to cross for his first try since 2019.
