MATCH REPORT | BARROW RAIDERS (A)

Match Report from Sunday's Round 20 fixture at The Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium

Bradford started with the pressure, as three consecutive sets on the raiders line saw Elliott Kear and Rhys Evans both come close, but the home side stood firm.

Then came the opening try as a break saw the ball move through hands, and Luke Cresswell found Tee Ritson who raced over in the corner.

The visitors came with more pressure, but a handling error from Dec Patton halted the progress.

Barrow then scored again, as former bull Jarrod Sammut took advantage of an error in the in-goal error to touch down and double their lead, pushing the game away from Bradford.

The Raiders defence stood firm as the half ended, as George Flanagan Jr was inches away from a Kieran Gill kick in-behind, but Shane Toal gathered the loose ball.

Ellis Gillam took advantage of an offload to reach out and score for the Raiders, with minutes to go before the half was over.

On the hooter, Barrow were awarded a penalty and another former bull Ryan Shaw slotted the ball between the posts to add on two points.

After the interval, Bradford hit back with a try of their own, after good work from Jordan Lilley and Ryan Millar, saw Kieran Gill score in the corner.

More pressure then came, as George Flanagan Sr raced the team up the pitch, but another handling error meant that another score was not forthcoming.

Paul Crarey’s men then sealed the victory, as a break saw full-back Luke Creswell arrow through the line and score underneath the posts.

Tee Ritson added to his afternoon tally with minutes to go to round off the win for the home side.
